BACHELOR'S
THESIS
Urban Rehabilitation | Chaophraya River Front & TOD
Chaophraya river has been the most important circulation of Thailand's central region and Bangkok since the first Rama era. With the development of the inland transportation system and the new TOD, nowadays its role has changed from the front to back tard of the city. "Water as a place" is set as the concept for waterbody rehabilitation. This thesis not only explores the character of the historic waterfront and but also tries to bring back the lives along both sides of the river and remain its dominant roles as those old days.
PROFESSIonal
PROJECT
YMID | Yothi Medical Innovation District
Located at the heart of Bangkok, Yothi district is now playing the main role as the educational and health center gathering of a number of medical centers, innovation institutions, and universities. The specific plan particularly focuses on enhancing the role of this area and integrating the spatial design to encouraging research and development and achieving innovative generation.
High-speed Rail Link | Makkasan Development Project
The conceptual spatial transformation represents a design proposal for TOD and the area around Makkasan railway station. This project aims to redevelop the old abandoned railyards and increase its capacity for the new high-speed train stop which will become a major connector to three airports and a key line linking to the eastern region.
SELECTED ACADEMIC PROJECT
The Bachelor's project objective focuses on learning and practicing the use of essential urban design tools that involve various approaches to tackle specific urban issues. Those challenges were range from regional to community scale, and each of them requires multi-skills and different methods for addressing. The following projects represent examples of urban tool application for both urban planning and design approaches.
Regional Planning | Bangpakong River
City Planning | Padriw City
Community Rehabilitation | Chak-Phra Canal
Meta-pattern Design Practice | Physarum Polycepharum
The first urban design practice provides the basic analytical approach. The exercise started from understanding the pattern of slime mold expansion from every single unit, Then adapt using the basic pattern for other purposes like integrating into mobile devices, shelters, as well as, the mock-up of urban settlement.
WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE
During the academic years, I had chances to attend few abroad workshops which let me explore different contexts and locations including the historical center of Vientiene, the medical sites in Bangkok and Paris, and the dense commercial districts in Tokyo.
